Manufacturing Coordinator

Reports To: Production Supervisor
Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
Availability for overtime necessary
Pay is around $14.00/hour
This individual must be able to quickly identify and resolve issues affecting completion of a manufacturing job. They will be responsible for organizing jobs and material; identifying material issues; tracking shortages and assuring that the materials are available for assembly personnel as scheduled. They must be capable of notifying and working successfully with others to resolve issues affecting timely completion of a manufacturing job.
This individual must be organized and able to read and understand engineering drawings, parts lists, pick-lists, travelers, etc. Must be familiar with manufacturing processes and have a good understanding of what tasks are required to complete various manufacturing activities. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• With direction from the production supervisor, sets daily Production priorities, determines workforce availability, and coordinates activities to assure that the production plan goals are met.
• Monitors the accuracy of materials, documents, operation standards and processes
• Coordinates material flow from the Stockroom to the Production area
• Resolves material shortages affecting Production is a timely and effective manner
• Assures that proper documentation is issued with each Work Order and that the documentation for each Work Order remains with the material and travelers are followed and completed properly
• Manages Production information; accurately inputs data into database programs on a daily basis (i.e. close Work Orders).
• Is knowledgeable of cable and electro-mechanical assembly methods manufacturing tools (i.e. Torque drivers, crimpers and various small tools)
• Generates documents (i.e. MDR, ECO, etc.) identifying and correcting Production related activities.
• Monitors usage of line supplies to prevent misuse and waste; reorders replacement materials
• Responsible for tracking production tools and supplies, verifying their acceptability for use and ordering replacement tools as necessary
• Ability to rapidly identify and correct line stoppage issues in an effective manner
• Monitors and maintains a safe work environment
• Monitors and maintains good housekeeping standards within the manufacturing area
Organizational Relationships:
• Ability to communicate effectively with production personnel, engineers, program managers, stock handlers, buyers, and other personnel.
Experience / Education Requirements:
• 1-3 years of directly related work experience in a Production Control environment.
• Previous experience with production and material management models (i.e. 5-S, Kaizen, Kanban and others) a plus.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Computer literacy required.
Electronics Components Background strongly preferred
