Quality Engineer in a Manufacturing Environment

San Diego, CA
Summary of Functions: The Quality Engineer assures finished product shipped to the customer meets corporate quality standards by controlling assembly, inspection, test and packaging processes. Also ensures that product meets requirements for FAA Certified Repair Station and PMA.

The Quality Engineer assists in the development and maintenance of process documentation and procedures to meet ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities: • Designs and implements methods and procedures for manufacturing, testing and inspecting the quality level of products and production tools/equipment.
• Supports development engineering during new product start-ups by establishing inspection and test protocols.
• Audits or performs final assembly inspection and testing (FAT, FRT, ATP) of product prior to shipment.
• Analyzes customer complaints/returned products and recommends corrective and preventive actions.
• Establishes and maintains supplier quality program.
• Interfaces with various departments to troubleshoot inspection non-conformances or deficiencies.

Assists with the following ISO 9001 tasks, as required:

• Recommends quality system continuous improvements.
• Develops procedures, instructions, and forms.
• Participates in internal/external quality audits.
• Participates in quality audits by customers.
• Provides training.
• Maintains quality records.
• Establishes and maintains quality metrics.

Qualifications:
2+ to 5 Years
Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
