Summary of Functions:
Manages all aspects of procurement including purchase negotiations, buying, vendor management, expediting, and delivery of inventory, equipment, and supplies.
Develops new supply sources and works with the Quality Department in the selection of new suppliers. Responsible for order maintenance, file and record management, data entry and data base management of purchasing data. Is proactive with suppliers to anticipate and resolve any issues that may arise. Maintains an active role in internal continuous improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plans and implements activities related to procurement of materials, parts, components, and equipment.
• Coordinates purchasing activities with Program Management, Engineering and Production departments to ensure successful project completions.
• Directs the activities of buyers and material planner/expediters to insure delivery schedules are met
• Works with Material and Quality Management to establish suppliers that meet the company’s requirements for cost, delivery, and quality.
• Forms partnerships with suppliers to facilitate negotiated contracts to reduce costs.
• Monitors cost, schedule and performance of suppliers.
• Develops procedures for the operation of procurement activities.
• Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to insure efficiency within purchasing.
• Coordinates purchasing agreements with other divisions for improved buying power.
Provides direct supervision to exempt and nonexempt employees and will become actively involved to meet schedules and resolve problems. Provides training as required and plans, coordinates, and evaluates staff activities and workloads.

• Skilled in supplier contracts and negotiations
• Flexible with changing priorities
• Reports to Director of Operations
Minimum Experience/Education Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree preferred (experience may be substituted for formal education.)
A minimum of 10 years procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
required; 3-5 years in a management role.
Strong organizational and communication skills
Excellent personal computer skills must include Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and ERP/MRP Computer Systems
