$60-70K Worker's Compensation Unnderwriter

Employment Strategies, Inc, is seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Underwriter for a well-known, stable insurance company in San Diego. Underwriter must have a minimum of 3 years experience. Description includes the following, but is not limited to: · Responsible for underwriting and quoting/declining new and renewal business, production, profit & losses, and marketing for a select group of brokers · Endorse, amend, cancel, and reinstate, policies as needed. · Train and/or foster growth of Associate Underwriters or other Underwriters within the department. · Manage assigned agency base and book of business effectively and efficiently · Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with assigned producers. · Review Loss Control Reports; make recommendations regarding suggested recommendations, and future service. · Respond to Loss Control within 72 hours of receiving the report. · Send non-renewal or cancellation notices Requirements: · Knowledge of insurance terms, principles and processes, specifically for Worker’s Comp · A minimum of 2 years of commercial underwriting experience The ideal candidate must have strong attention to detail, knowledge of computer software, and a strong reasoning ability.
