Software QA: Senior Engineer

Play a key role in a high tech startup that is deploying break-through technology and products for delivering high - quality video, audio, and web content to data-enabled mobile phones and other portable wireless devices. Contribute to the development of real-time audio-video adaptation products that optimally utilize widely varying bandwidth in current and next generation wireless networks. Define and implement test procedures for streaming multimedia server and processing software. Participate in critical aspects of the software development cycle, including establishing requirements, design, planning, testing, integration, and deployment. Assist in creating complete/partial tests plans, design and implement complex test cases and complete testbeds for verifying advanced functionality.

Requirements:

• Must be a self-starter with strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technology quickly.
• Significant experience in software / system testing.
• Previous responsibility for generating and implementing regression test plans, complex test cases & QA team schedule.
• Experience designing and implementing complete testbeds for
  end-to-end testing.
• Experience generating product requirements for testability.
• Experience with test automation and test tools.
• Previous responsibility for cross-functional team communication/interactions related to product quality and
  improvement.
• Experience in cross-functional product development activities
  including interactions with engineering, marketing, product
  support, sales, and other teams.
• Experience in enhancing testing/development/production processes to improve quality.
• Must possess excellent teamwork skills.
• Track record of rendering clear technical judgment and of
  routinely considering broad set of test / requirements / project
  delivery issues.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely
  related area.

Desirable:

• Experience in testing server based streaming multimedia software.
• Experience in testing products deployed by wireless carriers.
• Deep understanding of multimedia streaming protocols and
  compression technologies.
• Experience with Bugzilla.
• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related area.
• Experience configuring and building needed automated testing
  modules / testing tools.
• Experience working within a geographically distributed QA team.
• Experience testing real time systems.
